An optional one-day program, Fundamentals for New Board Members, addresses primary challenges facing newly appointed board members, as well as those who simply need a refresher course. Topics include corporate governance, legal counsel, liability issues, and financial evaluation.

The University of Georgia Terry College of Business partners with the Atlanta National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) to provide a two-day conference that examines the impact of regulatory changes on legal, fiduciary, and ethical responsibilities of board members.

The Annual Board Governance Summit is relevant to both new and established board directors inside private, public, and non-profit organizations, as well as senior managers who interact with boards.

The Annual Board Governance Summit qualifies participants for CLE, CEU, and CPE credits.

The 14th Annual Board Governance Summit will address a diverse range of issues, from governing in a climate of continuing marketplace uncertainty to what's ahead for executive compensation as Dodd-Frank regulation calls for more transparency.

Regardless of whether you represent a privately held firm or public corporation, or serve on a non-profit board, the Annual Board Governance Summit offers insights crucial for effective board service.

Newly appointed board members will leave with a solid foundation of knowledge that they didn't have before, while veteran directors will gain new insights on the latest developments affecting board governance.

All attendees will leave with a stronger network of peers, more confidence in their ability to effectively interact with board colleagues, and the latest knowledge on how to fulfill their duties with increasingly diverse constituencies.

Georgia’s Board Governance Conference gave me an opportunity to communicate with, and hear from, corporate decision makers in both classroom and informal settings, and gave board members themselves a chance to meet with one another and hear from a variety of experts both practical and academic on the emerging issues of corporate governance.
